Flagler
Flagler, a small and vibrant agricultural community on the Eastern Plains in Kit Carson County, is where the High Plains Bank story began. In 1908, we opened our doors as the Flagler State Bank and in 1920 we became The First National Bank of Flagler. In 2003, after opening a location in Bennett and purchasing a location in Wiggins, we changed our name to High Plains Bank. Flagler was founded in 1888 and incorporated in 1918 and many of the town’s landmarks are listed in the National Registry of Historical Locations.
Our dedicated Flagler employees have deep institutional banking knowledge and many continue to farm and ranch. Each of our employees take great pride in their beautiful, thriving community by contributing with their civic engagement and volunteer work.
Flagler is home to a wide variety of businesses that include the iconic I-70 Diner, agricultural establishments, Otteman’s Meat Processing Plant, the Flagler News, the Flagler Theater, and more. We are proud to serve the Flagler community as well as our neighbors in Arriba, Burlington, Genoa, Hugo, Limon, Stratton, and others along the eastern I-70 corridor to meet their financial needs, from small business to home loans to Ag Lending, to online and mobile banking.
